Official Weigh-In #9

Back again! Weighing in.

Sunday, February 19: 202 pounds

Sunday February 26: 202.5 pounds

0.5 pound gain

Yes, lame! A gain! Thankfully, it was not a huge one. This week was tough. John and I reverted back to a lot of our old ways - eating out and being pretty lazy. Not cool! Also, my achilles tendon is acting up again, and it's making me nervous. I don't want to be sidelined again this year!

One of my friends started on Body by Vi last week, and has lost a whopping 10 pounds and 4 inches in 1 week! That's crazy! I just don't get how that is healthy! Sure, I would love to be down 10 pounds this week, but I'd rather eat healthy meals and get my head in the right place about food than use a fad to do it! Now, that's not to say that I'm totally against protein shakes to lose weight. I just don't think using it as the only method of eating right is the way to go. I must do more research! I just can't wrap my head around it!

This week, we're moving. I'm going to get in 2 solid workouts a day until Thursday, and then try to at least do one before we start moving and unpacking more stuff. I am getting super excited to have a house of our own - and to get our puppy! I do need to stay on point this week. It's super important to me that I make it out of the 200s by the end of the month, meaning I have 3 days (I'm going to do a mid-week weigh in on Thursday) to lose 3 pounds. Doesn't sound too hard, and I hope it's not. I want to see a 1 at the front of my weight from now on!

I've done some research into my journey. Stay tuned for tomorrow's post. It's sure to be a good one!

And I'd like to say, way to go MK! She is kicking ass! I'm proud of you girl!

Anyways, back to work.

Bleh!

Not the most positive week so far. We've eaten out twice, and yesterday we had pizza lunch at work. Not cool! Good news is that I've only gained 1.5 pounds, but it sucks because now I'm sitting exactly at my goal weight from last week! Lame! I don't think today is going to be much better. I know that sounds bad, but I'm just not feeling it. I hurt my back, so I've been having a lot of difficulty wanting to work out, and my Achilles tendon has been hurting again, and I'm scared to hurt it again. I need to do some more stretching, I think! And put some more cushion in my work shoes.

But, I need to get ready for work. I hope I can make this week a positive one!

Official Weigh-In #7

So, a week after my first goal! Time to start a completely new goal! Yes, it's the same goal, but it's most likely going to be a lot harder!

Monday, February, 13: 206 pounds
Sunday, February 19: 202 pounds
4 pounds lost! 8.5 pounds to go to the next goal

Yes, I am using my Monday weight because it was my last official weigh-in weight. I only lost 0.5 of a pound since Tuesday, which isn't too impressive, but the fact that we are 7 weeks into the year and I've lost 11.5 pounds is pretty impressive. I have a friend who was on Visalus and has lost over 25 pounds so far this year, and while that's great, I think I've had it better. I don't want to lose that much weight that quickly. Sure, it would be great to get down to my goal quickly, but then I'd probably gain it all back. This way, I am learning about my body, and what I need to do to keep the weight off. This week, I worked out so much, well, more than normal. I watched what I was eating, and kept it pretty low. But I wasn't losing weight, in fact, I went up to 203 pounds yesterday morning. I figured maybe I was eating too few calories, so I didn't pay as much attention to what I ate yesterday - I went out for lunch with some friends who were driving through from FSJ - and had fish and chips! I didn't eat the full order, but I still ate fried fish and fries! And, with not paying as much attention, I lost a pound. I still watched what I ate, I just didn't count calories. It worked out. It's not always going to work out that way, but it's good to know that I guessed right about what was going on with my body!

I also mentioned to my sis, and my friend I met up with yesterday that I thought I was stalling a bit. Now, I think a lot of the stalling this week was due to going from 206 pounds to 202.5 pounds overnight, and probably from eating as little as I was. Both of them suggested upping my protein intake. I haven't been eating much protein at all. Lots of vegetables and fruit. Erika suggested I try to add protein in with beans. Worth a try! I'm going to go onto Pinterest and see if I can find some good bean recipes. If you have any, please forward them on to me! Erika told me about a black bean/cocoa granola bar thing. I hope I can find that. Sound yummy!

Anyone ever had a grapple? Those apples that are supposed to taste like grapes? I bought some yesterday ($5.99 for 4! Ridiculous!) and it's weird. They smell like grapes, but I still thought it tasted like an apple. It was good though, but maybe not good enough for the price. I'm almost out of fruit, so I think I'll have to try both grocery stores today to see if I can find some good apples. Oranges are pretty easy, but I can never find good apples!

Anyways, time to make some breakfast! Gonna make me some eggs! Have a good day everyone and a STRONG week!

Reward & New Goal

I am so happy to have achieved my goal, if even a few days late - that still counts, right? I think so, and on the advice of MK, I am declaring this goal met!

Now to my reward:

This hoodie is currently winging it's way to me from Vancouver! I can't wait to see the colour, it looks so light and refreshing!

Now to my next goal. I'm glad to have made my first goal, but there's no time to waste!

Sunday, March 25 - weigh-in #12: 10 pound goal - 193.5 pounds
Reward: facial

That's what I'm working towards now. I already have a head start on it, but I'd like to keep at it this time, and not come down to the wire. It will be difficult for a couple of weeks with our move, but I have to find ways to still work out, and to eat healthy.

I also have a mini-goal for the month of February. MK is trying really hard to get into the 160's this month, so I decided that I should try to get into the 190's this month as well. Might was well crack into another set of digits, and make it to One-derland. Another mini-goal doesn't hurt!

Last night, John and I went for dinner. I had a glass of wine and pasta. I was thinking I was defeated. I worked out at lunch again, and watched what I ate. Turns out I gained half a pound, which is really no biggie. At this point, half a pound is really nothing to worry about. I could be down it tomorrow!

Anyway, should go and get ready for work. Have a great day everyone!

Goal Weight!

So, it's Tuesday. I had a super strong day yesterday, so I weighed this morning...

202.5 pounds

Yup, that's right! I went down to below my goal! Whoop whoop!

Official Weigh-In #6 {a day late}

Sunday, February 4: 205.5 pounds

Monday, February 13: 206 pounds

0.5 pound gain

What a disappointing week. It was supposed to be the best week - a week where I finally made my goal. I've been working towards it for 6 weeks, but to no avail. Instead of losing, I ended up gaining.

Why, you ask? Laziness. Plain and simple. Too lazy to work out, too lazy to cook right. I hurt my back early in the week, and thought I could coast by and still make it down the 2 pounds that I needed to lose. How wrong I was. I'm glad it was only a 0.5 pound gain, but in reality, no gain is good!

Early in my goal making process, I decided that I wasn't going to get down on myself if I didn't make my goals, and give myself some grace. I am only human, and things are going to be tough on the road to skinniness. I'm allowing myself one week to complete this goal - with added incentive. I need to lose about 1.5 pounds each week to make my goal. So, if I lose the 2.5 I need to get to my first goal, plus another 1.5 pounds, I will still be on track, and I think I still deserve something for that. I mean, that will be over 10 pounds lost - 11.5 to be exact. I still see lululemon in my sights...

John and I were talking about vacations, and where we want to go. I decided Hawaii, because of something I saw on Hawaii 5-0 (funny, I know). So I got thinking, how cool would it be to run a half-marathon in Hawaii? To go there, and then run it, and have a week there as a reward for such a great accomplishment? John agrees (somewhat begrudgingly) that it's a good idea, and another thing to put on my bucket list! It just means that I really need to start running. I want to wait until May, when I will be in the 180s, because I don't want to be running with so much weight on me. I have bad joints to start with, so I don't want to make them worse by running on them with 206 pounds putting stress on them. That means I have until May to lose that, and start a running program. John thinks I run funny, so I might have to find a trainer to take me out a few times and correct me. Last thing I need is to make things worse!

Anyways, I should get back to working. I'm doing well so far today, calories are low, I just have to make sure that I do my workout!

Have a fantastic day all!

Official Weigh-In #5 {a day early}

This week I have to do my weigh in a day early. Hubby and I are headed back to Fort St John this afternoon to meet up with a life insurance agent, and I won't be able to weigh tomorrow morning.

Wanna see how it went?

Sunday, January 29: 208 pounds
Saturday, February 4: 205.5 pounds
2.5 pounds lost this week
8 pounds total for the year
2 pounds to my first goal on February 12

Yay! I'm pretty stoked, as I should be, I think! 2 pounds to go for the week. I think I can do that!

But, I have a ton of stuff to do before we leave today, so I should be going. I think another good hour of work and I can have the house cleaned to perfection!

Good Advice

Bob Harper gave some good advice on The Biggest Loser this week about how to start working out from home.

He said that you should start by walking a mile every day for a week. Then, the next week, try to beat your time. Keep going until you're running that mile and add more miles.

I can see what I'll be up to this spring!

Good News && More Good News

So, what do you want to hear first: the good news? or the more good news?

The good news is that we got financing approval for the duplex! Yay! And, we got an inspection, and everything looks good! Yahoo! Good news, right? Now we just have to get our down payment together (RRSPs are being cashed in) and get our house insurance ready, and we will be set!

And the more good news? I did a cheat weigh-in and I'm down to 206.5 pounds, meaning I only have 3 more pounds to go to get to my first goal! Whoop whoop!

Anyway, should be getting ready for work. Have a fantastic day all!
