4 pounds lost! 8.5 pounds to go to the next goal
Yes, I am using my Monday weight because it was my last official weigh-in weight. I only lost 0.5 of a pound since Tuesday, which isn't too impressive, but the fact that we are 7 weeks into the year and I've lost 11.5 pounds is pretty impressive. I have a friend who was on Visalus and has lost over 25 pounds so far this year, and while that's great, I think I've had it better. I don't want to lose that much weight that quickly. Sure, it would be great to get down to my goal quickly, but then I'd probably gain it all back. This way, I am learning about my body, and what I need to do to keep the weight off. This week, I worked out so much, well, more than normal. I watched what I was eating, and kept it pretty low. But I wasn't losing weight, in fact, I went up to 203 pounds yesterday morning. I figured maybe I was eating too few calories, so I didn't pay as much attention to what I ate yesterday - I went out for lunch with some friends who were driving through from FSJ - and had fish and chips! I didn't eat the full order, but I still ate fried fish and fries! And, with not paying as much attention, I lost a pound. I still watched what I ate, I just didn't count calories. It worked out. It's not always going to work out that way, but it's good to know that I guessed right about what was going on with my body!
I also mentioned to my sis, and my friend I met up with yesterday that I thought I was stalling a bit. Now, I think a lot of the stalling this week was due to going from 206 pounds to 202.5 pounds overnight, and probably from eating as little as I was. Both of them suggested upping my protein intake. I haven't been eating much protein at all. Lots of vegetables and fruit. Erika suggested I try to add protein in with beans. Worth a try! I'm going to go onto Pinterest and see if I can find some good bean recipes. If you have any, please forward them on to me! Erika told me about a black bean/cocoa granola bar thing. I hope I can find that. Sound yummy!
Anyone ever had a grapple? Those apples that are supposed to taste like grapes? I bought some yesterday ($5.99 for 4! Ridiculous!) and it's weird. They smell like grapes, but I still thought it tasted like an apple. It was good though, but maybe not good enough for the price. I'm almost out of fruit, so I think I'll have to try both grocery stores today to see if I can find some good apples. Oranges are pretty easy, but I can never find good apples!
Anyways, time to make some breakfast! Gonna make me some eggs! Have a good day everyone and a STRONG week!

Official Weigh-In #6 {a day late}
Sunday, February 4: 205.5 pounds
Monday, February 13: 206 pounds
0.5 pound gain
What a disappointing week. It was supposed to be the best week - a week where I finally made my goal. I've been working towards it for 6 weeks, but to no avail. Instead of losing, I ended up gaining.
Why, you ask? Laziness. Plain and simple. Too lazy to work out, too lazy to cook right. I hurt my back early in the week, and thought I could coast by and still make it down the 2 pounds that I needed to lose. How wrong I was. I'm glad it was only a 0.5 pound gain, but in reality, no gain is good!
Early in my goal making process, I decided that I wasn't going to get down on myself if I didn't make my goals, and give myself some grace. I am only human, and things are going to be tough on the road to skinniness. I'm allowing myself one week to complete this goal - with added incentive. I need to lose about 1.5 pounds each week to make my goal. So, if I lose the 2.5 I need to get to my first goal, plus another 1.5 pounds, I will still be on track, and I think I still deserve something for that. I mean, that will be over 10 pounds lost - 11.5 to be exact. I still see lululemon in my sights...
John and I were talking about vacations, and where we want to go. I decided Hawaii, because of something I saw on Hawaii 5-0 (funny, I know). So I got thinking, how cool would it be to run a half-marathon in Hawaii? To go there, and then run it, and have a week there as a reward for such a great accomplishment? John agrees (somewhat begrudgingly) that it's a good idea, and another thing to put on my bucket list! It just means that I really need to start running. I want to wait until May, when I will be in the 180s, because I don't want to be running with so much weight on me. I have bad joints to start with, so I don't want to make them worse by running on them with 206 pounds putting stress on them. That means I have until May to lose that, and start a running program. John thinks I run funny, so I might have to find a trainer to take me out a few times and correct me. Last thing I need is to make things worse!
Anyways, I should get back to working. I'm doing well so far today, calories are low, I just have to make sure that I do my workout!
Have a fantastic day all!

Official Weigh-In #5 {a day early}
Wanna see how it went?
Sunday, January 29: 208 pounds
Saturday, February 4: 205.5 pounds
2.5 pounds lost this week
8 pounds total for the year
2 pounds to my first goal on February 12
Yay! I'm pretty stoked, as I should be, I think! 2 pounds to go for the week. I think I can do that!
But, I have a ton of stuff to do before we leave today, so I should be going. I think another good hour of work and I can have the house cleaned to perfection!

Good Advice
He said that you should start by walking a mile every day for a week. Then, the next week, try to beat your time. Keep going until you're running that mile and add more miles.
I can see what I'll be up to this spring!

Good News && More Good News
The good news is that we got financing approval for the duplex! Yay! And, we got an inspection, and everything looks good! Yahoo! Good news, right? Now we just have to get our down payment together (RRSPs are being cashed in) and get our house insurance ready, and we will be set!
And the more good news? I did a cheat weigh-in and I'm down to 206.5 pounds, meaning I only have 3 more pounds to go to get to my first goal! Whoop whoop!
Anyway, should be getting ready for work. Have a fantastic day all!
